Oasis, founded by Anne B. LaRussa in 1995, provides affordable, high-quality counseling to women, children, and families who might otherwise be unable to afford these services.

Oasis serves hundreds of individuals who suffer trauma from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; severe depression or anxiety, grief from divorce or death, chronic illness, post-partum depression and other disorders.

Counselors work with women in multiple 50-minute sessions to address underlying issues and empower them to reach their full potential.

Children served at Oasis suffer trauma from abuse, severe neglect from parents/caregivers, behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and conduct disorders. Many are foster children and experience multiple home placements.

Through Play Therapy, children can learn new coping skills, and learn how to redirect inappropriate behaviors.

Play Therapy can also help a child explore emotions and deal with unresolved trauma.

In addition to the conditions listed above, teen girls may also experience risky behavior, self-injury like cutting, or suicidal ideation.

Oasis counselors help teen girls through traditional talk therapy, journaling, art therapy and other expressive techniques with the goal of developing improved coping skills, avoiding destructive behaviors,  and moving towards becoming healthy, productive adults.
